According to the latest terminal sales data (traffic insurance coverage) of the first commercial vehicle network, in May 2021, the domestic tractor market sold a total of 66,700 units (excluding exports and military products), down 15% month-on-month and 18% year-on-year. The year-on-year decline was narrowed compared with the previous month (-22%), and the sales volume was about 15,000 units less than the same period last year.

The performance of 66,700 tractors in the terminal market in May this year has been at a low level in the past two years, and it has been higher than this level for seven months in the whole of 2020. As can be seen from the chart above, after the tractor terminal market reached its monthly sales "ceiling" of 120,100 units in March 2021, the sales curve began to decline sharply, and it has been below the blue curve representing 2020 for two consecutive months.

Compared with the same period last year, in May, the mainstream tractor enterprises in the terminal market performance to "drop", and a number of enterprises reached a double-digit decline, the top ten sales of 6 enterprises more than 18% of the market as a whole, only 1 mainstream enterprises in the decline of single-digit, the decline of the most serious enterprise reached 67%; However, in the declining market, there are still enterprises growing firmly against the trend: Sinotruk sold 13,500 units in May, with a year-on-year growth of 13%, becoming the only one among the top ten tractor-terminal sales in May to achieve growth. Sinotruk's continuous growth momentum in 2021 has reached "5 consecutive growth"; If the scope is expanded to the top 12 terminal sales, Valin Hamma and Hyundai Commercial Vehicle will also achieve 10% and 224% growth, respectively.
In May, the tractor terminal market has 3 enterprises sales over 10,000 units, this figure in March had reached 5, in April is 4, the trend of market cooling in this point of view is also very obvious. In May, FAW Jiefang continued to lead the market with sales volume of 17,400 units. Sinotruk and Dongfeng were the other two enterprises with sales volume of over 10,000 units, with actual sales volume of 13,500 units and 11,800 units respectively in May. Dongfeng also held on to the top three positions in the industry for two consecutive months.
In the tractor market in the first May of 2021, Jiefang is still the leader with a share of nearly 30%. Sinotruk has continued its momentum of last year, and its cumulative share has increased by over 8 percentage points compared with the same period last year, showing a strong momentum of rise. Dongfeng and Foton's share in the tractor terminal market has also expanded to a certain extent compared with the same period last year. On the other hand, since March, the tractor market pattern has begun to change compared with the end of last year. Beiben, Valin Hanma and XCMG have successively entered the top 10, which shows that the competition in the ranking is extremely fierce, and the tractor market pattern is not absolutely stable.
Tractor terminal market sales suffered a "continuous decline" in April and May, and the current trend of weak demand is difficult to reverse, the next June and the third quarter of the market pressure will only be greater, the "continuous decline" of tractor is afraid that will continue for a long time.
